Where has the last 3-4 weeks gone. Well, it’s been frantically busy. I finally found a new creative to work at Or Media after a 4 month search… she will hopefully start in July/August so that’s really great as I think she has a lot of talent to bring to our creative team.

We had a team bonding exercise out on the Solent…. the Or Media crew - well most of us (the Polish office didn’t come) went sailing on Butterfly based in Portsmouth – we had a fun time and luckily it was pretty windy (and that wasn’t because Tim demolished all the crab) with a Force 4-5, so we managed to sail to Cowes and have some grub and drinks on board and down the pub. What else… oh yes, we got broken into. It’s just over a year ago since we last got done over and this time they were never going to get through the back door as it’s re-enforced with iron bars and hinge bolts…. but that didnt stop them smashing in the security glass after lots of attempts! They eventually got in a lifted out two iMacs and a Mac Pro! So, we will now have to install even more sensors and external CCTV as alarms don’t bother them… perhaps we need to get a dog?

Break-in

The three Macs they took were all going to the NMA Online Marketing and Media show the following week as were exhibiting there, but we managed to quickly get replacements and get the stand ready in time.

It was a good show, as usual there was lots of suits from Search Marketing firms exhibiting but there was a few Creative Digital Agencies here this time - a big shout out to Karl and the crew at Koko from Sheffield!

We had a cute game going on where players could enter the competition away from the stand via iPod Touch and iPhones on wireless… they then stepped up and played the game on the big screen on our stand. It was pretty successful – I think we had a good 80-100 players each day, and the top 20 of each day went into a prize draw with the winner of each receiving an iPod Touch.

Online Marketing Show

We met lots of people so we’re hoping that we will create some great new relationships - we met a few last year who have now become excellent clients. The only thing is as a business owner… it costs a lot of money to exhibit, Derek and I are sure by the time you take our game development time, the print, graphics, stand etc it comes out at a whopping £25k….! Let’s hope it was worth it.
